Fuh, I don't want to push you, but when will the source changes of the Build 585 available?
I already (mis-)downloaded the old sources again (it seems that it's currently difficult to reach fuhquake.net from my location - or at least to get good download rates.
So it took me several hours to download them - just to find out that they are the old ones Sad)

Hi Massa, the source has been out for days. I don't know why it didnt work for you, if it took so long to download it cant be a caching issue. I can email you a patch if you want, its 16KB zipped.

Thanks! That helps a lot!

I first tried to use the Swedish mirror (good download rates from here), but it had only the old sources (from 23. September)
Then I tried several time to download the sources from fuhquake.net.
After several retries and aborts I got it.
But that were the old ones... Shocked ????

I also don't understand what's happening - but thanks to your patch I'll be able to reimplement the things again Wink

Bingo! That is the rocket trail bug. One of the varients at least. Another occurs when you shoot and quickly side step. It makes it look like the trail vector was rotated resulting in two rocket trails.

I am sure Fuh has some ideas, now, as to why this trail bug is happening. It can be a problem in game because it confuses you during heavy fire fights, when you rely on trajectories to determine your opponent's location.

hmm quantum, i watched the demo and didnt get the bug. does it happen to you every time you watch it? If so what rocket is it (the first one shot, the 2nd, etc)? . Does it happen consistently to anyone else when they watch it?

I can probably work it out if I know what rocket number it is. (in fact i examined the packets in the demo and I think I've found and fixed it already).

yeh I fixed it. I also managed to find out what exactly caused it. Its technical, but basically this happens when you receive two entity packets in one frame and the first contains a new rocket. You can simulate this by increasing the demospeed when watching a demo (just try cl_demospeed 2.8 and you will see some rockets bend).

I will upload a fix shortly (keep an eye on the known bugs thread).
