When I try to run 0.31glx on my linux box I get a seg. fault no matter what command line options I try. I have tried 0.31 x11 and 0.30 x11,glx and they all work fine.
Contents of dmesg:

Rename libxmms.so to something else. See if it helps (I bet it does).
Next time read https://fuhquake.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6 .
emrys , using nividia ? what driver version?
Also what distro (both of you)? |

Im using Mandrake 9.2 . I believe emrys is using gentoo
renaming libxmms.so does allow .31 to work. Should the problem mentioned https://fuhquake.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6 also affect .30 v585? or is that specific to .31. Because, I have no issues with .30 v585 and xmms. |

v0.30 compiles the libxmms library into the binary. This is a problem because the library inbuilt into the binary will be outdated if the user has a newer xmms installed.
v0.31 loads it from the user's system. This is the professional way of doing it because then the libxmms library loaded matches the version the user has installed.
however it seems to be causing problems, and so far everything indicates its not specific to FuhQuake (it happens with other GL apps too). I'm talking with an xmms developer to see what's going on. |

My system is a Gentoo system, with low latency and 500hz mouse patch:
Linux lieutenant 2.4.23-ck1 #1 Sat Jan 10 09:45:59 GMT 2004 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
The xmms fix worked. Guess I should rtfm. Thx.
