If you want to try a new blob effect (emp/gas grenade) then download https://fuhquake.net/fuhquake-test.zip .
I only spent ~20 min on it, so it isn't perfect but I think it has potential. Unfortunately I don't have time for tweaking further, but if someone wants to tweak the sizes etc for me I can send the source for it, and then you can send it back with the tweaked values.
Update: The pyro flames have also been changed. They use the same texture as hibread so they look 90% the same. I don't have time to make them exactly the same.
variables : gl_part_inferno 0/1 turns on/off the pyro flames. Make sure you set this to 1 to see the new pyro flames.
gl_clipparticles 1 doesnt draw particles if they are really close to you (0 is default).

hrhr i like your Emp grenade better Fuh =D. I just think it needs some white explosion particles or something to make it look less soft.
Although your pyro flames are a large improvement over the normal sprites, they just don't add up to Hibread flames (Ignoring that you only spent a few minutes on them)
But if you decide to keep yours instead : it would be nice to have the "wall flame?" also improved. (instead of looking old and sprite-ish (seen below))

btw bitchslap that isn't pug's emp explosion, thats plexi's emp explosion, he worked really hard to make that, plexi had to "bust out the math book" to make that one.
all fuh did was add the source to his client. |

this was released before hibread source release, fuh states above that he made the emp himself, the pyro flames are from hibread.
So unless this has changed and he used hibread emp as well...then it is fuh emp? Looks different to me anyway.
Less of the comments like "all fuh did was add it to his source" please Zero. Theres no-one more hard working than fuh. |

Wow, if he did thats verrry eerie. I made the emp effect for the client without any outside influence the other day after I had an idea to have it have a huge ring expand from the center (didn't turn out exactly that way though).
I did update the CVS when I did, and he could have seen it there. If not thats pretty weird we came up with a similar effect at around the same time all alone |
