[Quiescence]

Well, I'm a TFC player, and after seeing the TFDE avis, I felt like getting into it's roots and trying out TF. Unfortunately, I was raised on Doom and never got Quake, nor know how to use it.

So, I downloaded this Quake Shareware deal from Fileplanet, hoping it'd be multiplayer as well, and I got this after I installed it and ran Quake.exe:

In_Read Joystick: No response
Joystick Not Found

Couldn't exec config.cfg
3 Demo(s) in loop
Playing Demo from demo1.dem

Now it freezes on this screen, it says Necropolis or something on the bottom right. Freezes to the point where I have to turn off the computer and restart. =\

Anyone have any ideas?

you don't run quake.exe . you just need the id1/pak0.pak from shareware.
