well I used to play a lot of DM levels, and p3a by pingu was one of my favorites.. it might be awhile but I will eventually retexture all my favorite DM levels. This is kind of addicting Cool Thanks fuh. If you like my work so far, please post and let me know, otherwise it will stay on my harddrive for local qw play only. I think two textures were borrowed from the E1M1 retexturing team (Thanks).

Flinty: I will be quite honest with you, laugh if you want.. but I have no idea what a locfile is, or what pointing is. I've used Qizmo a long time ago, but that was to view a match, I don't even remember what the commands were. We just played QW usually 1 vs 1 back then, I was stuck with a 33.6 modem so we played on our IPX network back then, a lot of rocket arena and a lot of dualing maps.

Now our home network has grown quite a bit, and we use teamspeak if we need to talk or curse each other out Smile

What I'm trying to say is, if you think it's going to be good for others downloading it, I will gladly host it if you are willing to take the time to make these locfiles... but explain to me what they are in the process Cool

amish Smile
loc files = location files.
It is simple text files (.loc) which contains coordinates; x, y & z.
These are connected with names for each coordinate.

When you mark a location (in my case with nfproxy) you simply write ".m high-tele" e.g.
Then, the location you are at, will be called "high-tele".
The mark you just did, will automaticly get a coordinate (where you stood when you wrote .m), and it all gets stuffed in the .loc file for the fixed map you are on, and if the mapname is basement.bsp the locfile will automaticly be called basement.loc and so on.
Then you go around the map, making .m's everywhere...

And the coordinates you are closest at, will get reported when typing various commands; for example %l simply reports the location (coordinate) you are at. %l (among other commands) is "connected" with the .loc-file for the map you are playing on.
Then there are lots of other commands too, like %L reports the location you died at, %y tells you the location of an item you are looking at...

With a very special thanks to the simland texture pack, here are some almost finished screenies of debello, another great dm level. These pics are not representative of the finished product, a lot of things will have to be tweaked and changed.

suicidal: the harpoon looking weapon is the sniper rifle in the best q1 dm mod ever, matador.

Thanks to the usual people, the E1M1 retex team, and Christoper Buecheler from the Texture Studio for some textures. Again, very big thanks for to the Simland texture pack.

Have a look-see!
