Here is the current state of a texture for the large box of rockets I'm working on:

It is basically complete, but I keep staring at it with the feeling it is missing something, or some aspect of it is wrong. Anyway, some feedback would be great as I'm at a bit of a standstill with it. Thanks in advance.

For reference, this is an in game shot of the original texture:

Maybe what bothers you is the difference between the quality of the pack, and the blur of the rest of pic Wink

Anyway good job!

maybe the rocket should be "inside" the box, so that the edges would cover it a bit. on the bottom at least, now it looks a bit like it's floating in the air? or is it just me? nice texture still!

i agree with melody. it looks very nice and faithful but it looks like the rocket is just a picture on the front cause its just floating in blackness, or is it suppose to look that way?

Not quite sure how it's supposed to look. Not alot to reference by looking at the original. Hence the small liberty I took by adding in the latches. It just looked plain weird with those rectangular holes in the box. Very Happy I've tried a few variations on some shading of the box but it still doesn't 'feel' right when looking at it. But it will work out sooner or later.

Wheee! I think this should do the trick nicely:

After I figure out how to make the area behind the rocket look a bit less 'cartoonish', I think it will be a done deal. Again, any input would be great!!

The rockets fade slightly to black, while the background is redish.

I personally prefer the md3s.

The red on your skins is presumably meant to be transparent. This isn't doable in fuhquake without more complicated models, so it looks wrong.

It's definatly a nice try.

Acutally the red area is the exact same color used in the original texture. No transparency was intended. And yea, the md3s will be the way to go at some point, but until they don't come up as modified models in a check, something like this is the only other option for a replacement that doesn't appear as a blurry mess for the packs 'o rockets like the original texture does. Well, that and this texture is also needed to do a 24bit faithful rendition of the hud as well. Smile

Yeah, I think those md3 ammo boxes arn't considered cheatie by anyone except those purists out there.

I don't see anyone else making thier own versions. Fuh may as well go and add them to his security lib.

Ok. I think I'm basically happy with this. But since I've been staring at this particular texture off and on for so long, it's highly likely I'm overlooking something. As always, any feedback would be appreciated.

Missing the hot pink Razz

everything these days, since the eighties doesnt have enough hot pink Razz

I like this colour.

R: 255
G: 102
B: 255

Less green for a brighter looking texture. Very Happy

Looks good mate.
