Hi guys. This thread is basically where the live action happens for the Quake Retexturing Project. Basically, I'll post textures/communicate via irc/this thread with whoever wants to help out and try to produce QUALITY textures. As you noticed in the QRP (Quake Retexturing Project) page, many textures are simply horrid. My (well, the textures I approve) textures will be faithful (and ONLY FAITHFUL TEXTURES WILL BE ACCEPTED). If you've never downloaded any updates, or want all the files in one big zip (which is updated.. took out textures that aren't used and textures that are HUGLY [hugely ugly Razz]), then get this:

If you just want an update, get this:

** both zips have been stripped of all files besides texture/luma **

awesome job again rare. you can delete them off your webhost Smile

p.s. gave you some brick textures which shouldn't be too hard -- different shades i just think would do it. btw make sure you get the shades fairly good because i have some fixes coming up where people did horrible brick colors

umm was in the installer, i bassically dont have the room to put up all the textures anymore..
you can try my old web space it still has alot of texture sets from back in the day.

im sure dm3 is there.
And with that brick texture that you thought was ripped from another game, it wasnt.. i made it Razz
And yes the colour is a little out isnt it

also the wall textures you posted are already done... do you want higher quility ones or something, i thought they were quite good :/

GJ RaRe. The brick ones I put up (city*_*) weren't done on the QE1 page. Did you do them and Elchtest just hasn't updated the page yet or something? or do you know where I can find them? Anyway, I removed them and put up other ones...

Ill just edited like on of the original msg's for placing new textures so make sure you check it often up2nogood
:)scrool up to see the skulls etc

Nice work on the skulls, and the rock fragments are perfect, but the colors still don't match Sad can you tune it up one more time please Sad I linked to your rock so don't delete it just yet =p

GJ on the marble RaRe. I was wondering.. A lot of the textures I give you to redo is just simple changing of colors.

If you write a short and basic tutorial on how to change colors (like for the 3 brick textures I posted above), I can redo those and you can work on the harder things like adding/subtracting elements of a texture or whatnot. what do you think?

Also, RaRe are you going to do any bump/luma's ?? I haven't seen any yet.. is that just because the textures I've given you don't need them yet ?

Also, [Win]Elchtest (QE1 creator) and I are working closely and last night I think he updated the web page with *50* new textures!!!

I hope this is inspiring to the people out there who can help retexture quake. This thread doesn't only apply to RaRe, he's just the only one helping so far Smile

i only use fuhquake, i wasnt sure if fuhquake supports bumps, if something need luma though i will do it.
umm the bricks are easy, just get one of the new bricks and have something like paintshop pro.
click of adjust then hue and saturation, you can use the hue and saturation or colorize.

I use adquedit to get the names of textures in maps..
try a search for it
also the qe1 has like most of the textures used in quake 1 serise on their site if you have checked it
