Hello, I interested on fuhquake because it works under linux better than anyother remake that I have tested. so first I want to say that you gyes and fuh have done great job on this. then into my questions.

I have couple problems with quake...
1. How do I change models? (Not just textures, but also models?)
2. How do I can have newer crosshair?
3. How do I can have newer HUD?
4. Were to get all this stuff, I hope that I don't have to use fileplanet... (filealcoholic is good place.)
5. I have also read many of topics in this forum and all I have after it is just couple broken links. and those who work aren't much of use.
6. If I am going to make a basic pak for every beginner then could you gyes help me to make it?
7. I am also interested on writing documentation about modifying quake...

I am not a n00b, but modifying quake is little bit new to me because last time I did something like this the year was 1 & 2 after potato wars... Smile

And I downloaded that retextured pack from q1retexturing and extracted it into quake/id1/textures and it works fine then I have found that putting those newmake weapon/model textures into directory under it quake/id1/textures/models will replase weapon/model skins.
then I have also downloaded a lot of stuff from other sites and most of those are pak files and putting those into quake/id1/ directory will activate those into use of game and also in with QW.

I haven't figured out how to get grunt or should I say basic enemy soldier with better textured new model work, but anyway that I am asking here.

Then one thing that was wery, some one whined that he can't have fuhquake work fullscreen in linux. And more odd was that some one give him a very very hard script to understand by n00b. I can say that it is more easier to that n00b to just start fuhquake by entering

or making a script like this one I use

xgamma -gamma 1.7                 #set gamma
cd /home/anxa/games/quake      #cd to your quake-dir
./fuhquake-gl.glx -fullscreen -bpp 32 -width 1240 -height 1024 #run fuhquake
xgamma -gamma 1.0                 #back to default gamma
exit 0                                        #exit


You can see here I am using Xgamma for adjusting my gamma.
this is better way of doing that. than adjusting it from fuhquake

Yeah, yeah, I am a linux nerd so what? Wink

And from that offtopic to subject. I have one more question to ask.
Does anyone know were to get better models for TF? Now I have nice textures and weapons with ugly models and more uglier TFclass models.
