Well I was simply going over my quake folder, and trying to organize things a little.

The first request was if you (fuh ) could add a variable like $version that'll return the version #, so I can have a fq031.cfg and a fq028.cfg because I use 0.31 for spectating, watching demos, etc... and use 0.28 when I play in matches because it runs smoother for me, but obviously 0.31 looks nicer .

The second request is make a loadpakfile command, that would let you load pak files that are not named after the conventional pak#.pak (in order)... so I can name my pak files "sounds.pak" so I know what that pak file is for, etc... that would be helpful (I think ).

for the time being, look in the docs for cvars that have been introduced between versions (so u can do if $cvarname blah), thats how i do it
