Ok, here I was playing MegaTF asa soldier and I was switching between the ssg and the rl to check if I needed to reload, my change weapon script is like so:
alias switchrlssg "if $weaponnum == 7 impulse 3 else impulse 7"
bind w "switchrlssg"

so anyway, I switch back to my rl, and I fire.... and for some reason it fires the ssg even though my rl model out. odd no?
