I use FuhQuake 0.23, sometimes when tabbing out of Fuhquake while in full screen will crash me (15% probability). It will blue screen with the error "error in nt4disp.dll/nv4disp.dll" and then WinXP does a memory dump then restarts. There is no way to recover from this error and it's a pain in the ass.

WinXP (no service packs), 256MB SDRAM, Nvidia TNT2 Ultra running Detonator 23.11 drivers, PIII 500Mhz. Running Fuhquake in 640x480*32 fullscreened if that's any help.

Fuhquake seems like the only client for me that does this to me. zquake, mquake & glquake do not do this. I've been using zquake for a while and this has never happened before until I got Fuhquake in which it has crashed on 4 different occasions from tabbing out.

hmm well it's hard to say whats causing that. It's an OS error rather than an errr spat out directly by the fuhquake client.

I'd suggest using newer drivers just to see if it keeps occuring with them. I'd also suggest not using any 24bit textures (rename qw/textures to qw/texturesX etc) just to see if that helps. If zquake has no probs, then fuhquake minus all the extra stuff should have no probs.

wtf is cl_autoid?

my fuhquake .23 doesn't have cl_autoid, how does yours?

I also get that error too, I have a p3 1 gigahertz with a tnt2, on windows xp, with 512 meggs of sdram. And you do know that lagless autoid is a cheat right? because you can autoid people thru walls... But if you have found a way to do lagless autoid without it going through the walls, i'd be a very happy man, and you need to share the code with f uh.

For some reason when I load up fuhquake all the characters are all fucked up looking, I have to alt-tab out of fuhquake, then click back on it for the characters to be normal (even with 24-bit charset, and yes same thing with zquake, but not mqwcl).

And every now and then when I do the alt-tab thing I get a black screen, plain black, monitor is on, sometimes i get the blue error screen where it has to dump all the memory or some bs and it takes like a couple minutes.

cl_autoid is from the secrut fv client which contained autoid
