I'm not going to make a million different locations for the map. My Locs will NOT be specific, but instead it will be what you would normally type in a match in the heat of the moment (well, maybe a little bit better heh).
1. Instead of using leds, I have changed everything to either $bb or $rb to distinguish between bases. bb = blue base, rb = red base. For those who don't know, this is so you can have perfectly uniformed locs. If you want all of your locs to distinguish blue base by "{B}", you have to put this in your config: set bb {B} and everywhere that $bb is will show up as {B}. (please note that there should be no "$" in the set. For example, set $bb {B} is incorrect whereas set bb {B} is correct!)
2. Cases where somewhere can be two places will be seperated by a "/" (for instance ts / rr)
3. If a room outside the FR doesn't have ramps and you really can't give it a name no one will recognize, it will be named RR. ETC with other things...
4. bs = bottom spiral, ms = middle spiral, ts = top spiral, fr = flag room, rr = ramp room, cy = courtyard, bm = basement, cw = catwalk, os = outside, spawn = respawn, high = upper, hall = way to OR corridor, low = lower, tele = teleport, CP = cap point, Wtr = Water, SD = Sniper Deck, Grnd = Ground.
Most are self-explanatory, but you never know Someone out there might not know

just some suggestions for loc authors:
use low instead of lower,
high instead of upper
spawn instead of respawn
entry instead of entrance

^ egypt insanity2 and blitzkrieg2
What about using $tp_name_redb and $tp_name_blub? I'd want to keep red and blue leds for status stuff.
Hrm you can also replace corridor or passage to hall. I used Mid Spir Bot Spir and Top Spir bs ts and ms dont really seem as good as FR or RR....... maybe $tp_name_ts $tp_name_ms $tp_name_bs?
I finished a couple of these, you can get em here http://home.attbi.com/~JHarding01/Locs.rar |

the easiest way of doing past locs and saving time is open the file in notepad. Then you don't have to go through the entire stupid map to remake the locs. |

well, it didn't look to me like anyone really cared about locs so i didn't really do much (maybe a little here and there). but I finished excel.loc today, and will probably start on another map later this week. any suggestions for my next map?

Loc Guide
How To Guide #1 - How to make Locs with heaps of positions real easy (download qwz).
1. Make sure you can .mark location with Qizmo (NFProxy has a line limit and sucks)
2. Find a room
3. /bind x "say .mark -r- flag room"
4. Run around the permeter of red's flag room and mash your x key. If it's a big room go through the middle in a cross
5. Find another room
6. /bind x "say .mark -r- way to flag room"
7. Mash x key while running around the room
8. Repeat until done entire map
9. Open up mapnam.loc and text search and replace -r- to something like [red] or .red. or .r. or whatever. Using the actual character is better than $[, $. etc because of some client/proxy restrictions
10. Send BLiP the loc
Obviously change the names in the example and don't call every room "flag room" with the one beside it "way to flag room". Make the names of the positions understandable to everyone. It's used for the team and not useful if only you know where you're talking about. The more positions in a loc the better.
(CURTOSEY OF BLiP, just thought uid post it here)
BLIP HAS MADE LOADS OF LOCS AND I CERTAINLY THINK HE DESERVES PRAISE FOR THE EFFORT. CHECK THEM OUT AT http://blip.orcon.net.nz/locs.htm |

Looking for a good well6 .loc
Can I have the one with the bases defined? :~)
I know I've seen it somewhere, give it up. You are discovered.
