After installing the newest Catalyst (4.3) for my Radeon 9700, I experience the following, extremely annoying problem with fuhq0.31 GL: the picture becomes very dark and changing the ingame gamma has no effect at all.

Sometimes this doesn't happen when starting fuhq for the first time after booting(once the problem starts, restarting fuhq doesn't help), sometimes it happens immediately. Turning vid_hwgammacontrol on just makes the picture even darker.

The only way to change gamma is to alt-tab to windows and change the gamma in the ati control panel (of course, affects windows gamma too). I tested a few other games and there was no problem. I also tried using Powerstip, but for some reason (same reason?) its gamma control has no effect (not only in fuhq, nowhere). . Earlier I was using Catalysts from around last summer.

similar crap experiance with 4.3 on my 9700pro, i also get reduced speed + it doesnt recognise all my refresh rates but cat 4.1 seems to work perfect for me, but not the fastest driver but it works well and thats all that maters.

later driver does not mean better, 4.3 cat will definatly be on the ati driver shitlist in the future

it does seem that as soon as ati fixes a bug in one game it breaks something in another its just one big juggling act imo.

Ok, I'll try the 4.1s soon. Interesting that there's so many problems linked to the cat driver series. I don't remember reading that many negative experiences about nvidia's detonators back when I was using them (but then again, that might be just because I never had a problem with them myself )
