|
|
I just did a comparison between GLQWCL and FuhQuake (.26) in terms of being flashed with the Flash grenade in MegaTF.
In FuhQuake, with polyblend and flashblend both set to 0, the fullbright flash (where you can't see anything) lasts 9 seconds before it starts dimming.
In GLQWCL, with polyblend and flashblend both set to 1 (otherwise the effect of the flash is eliminated), the fullbright flash lasts approximately 2 seconds before it starts dimming.
For now, I'll use GLQWCL in matches because waiting 10 seconds to see is not right. I knew something was up, but I finally did the testing and there's a major difference.
Anyways, I'd appreciate it if this could be looked into. There is no urgency in it, or maybe I have some settings wrong. I prefer FuhQuake over GL anyday, but this is the only thing holding me back in match play.
I'd appreciate the feedback.
Thanks in advance,

I think toik of zquake made it 10 seconds because thats the way it happens in software and the way it was intended. |

My Flash goes INSANE!
My screen doesn't go white, instead it stays at the frame and mashes...
But this only happens in CUSTOM-TF and only in GL...
WTF!?

I also have the same problem: 2 second flashes in normal GL, 9 second full flash, 15 total flash. In MegaTF, I'm not sure exactly how long it [the flash] is supposed to last, somewhere around 3-5 seconds? I end up just suiciding anyway. |

I get around 6 seconds of full white (gl "mashing") before the visibility starts to come, and then for the last second, I get the "gl mashing" again.
Roughly 10-11 seconds, and it's both fuh and mqwcl. |

psych has the same thing as I...
Mega-TF seems to work fine tho...
I think it is something to do with the refresh...
Bcuz you can't get the full white screen in GL...
Maybe, what it does:
Whites your screen for 1/2 sec.
Stops your refresh (so it "mashes")
Then starts refresh (but so slowly that you are still getting the white <if you were in normal>)
And then its fine....
I dunno

Run FuhQuake software, set gamma 0.55 and contrast 1.0 and check flash grenade delay. This delay is normal for MTFl. For equal flash delay in gl, try use this settings:
vid_hwgammacontrol 1
gl_gamma 0.55
gl_contrast 1.3 |
